I spent the majority of the last three years in Liverpool, and one of my pastimes became going out to find live music - often in jazz bars - and sketching the musicians. I love the atmosphere of a jazz bar, which is well-depicted in film and television too, and wanted to put into a painting full of energy and music. This is the largest painting I’ve ever done (apart from a mural of Santa and his reindeer I did on the living room wall when I was 11).
