This painting was inspired by the book ‘Babel’ by R.F. Kuang. There is a scene in which three students are at a ball where they don’t really feel they belong.
Big extravagant events aren’t for them, but after managing to slip away and find each other on the stairs for a more peaceful party, the night improves immensely.
