'CHESS GAME' acrylic on canvas original

I paused a film at a moment when there was light coming in through a window with crossbars, and was immediately taken by the pattern it made on the wall behind. That was the first element of this painting, and then the rest of it followed. The small touches such as the ornaments and wine glasses are all taken out of my sketchbook, and the statue in the background is of Eve picking the apple in the garden of Eden.
I like to think the man on the right is teaching the other how to play chess.
